The Federal Air Transport Agency has recently issued about 150 permits for flights to foreign destinations to Russian air carriers. Including the list covers popular tourist destinations. Permissions, according to the Federal Air Transport Agency website (link), include:
- Dominican Republic — 32 flights
- Egypt — 15 flights
- Goa — 1 flight
- UAE — 15 flights
- Zanzibar — 6 flights
- Tunisia — 1 flight
- Seychelles — 1 flight
- Istanbul — 11 flights
- Czech Republic (Pardubice) — 1 flight
In addition, permits have been issued for flights to China, Japan, Bulgaria, Greece and many other destinations. The Federal Air Transport Agency, however, reminds that the decision to issue these admissions is not a basis or a decision to resume flights on international routes specified in the order of the Federal Air Transport Agency dated 03.12.2020 No. 1463-p. Clearance is a right of the airline, which it can use when receiving permission to resume flights. In fact, tour operators and their affiliated carriers «occupy slots» for the future.
For example, “Royal Flight” and “Nord Wind” airlines are “allowed” to Egypt, and we are talking about flights from regions, including those not yet open for foreign flights — such as Ufa, Samara, Vladikavkaz, etc.
Ural Airlines received admission to the UAE. Only five admissions to regular routes Moscow (Zhukovsky airport) — Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, seven times a week in each case, as well as flights from St. Petersburg to Sharjah and Dubai, 7 times a week. In addition, the carrier received permission for additional flights within the 2020-2021 winter season.
Aeroflot will fly to the Seychelles opened for Russian tourists on the route Moscow — Victoria, 7 times a week. Azur Air claims Zanzibar — 4 times a week from Moscow and St. Petersburg; three times a week from Kazan and Rostov-on-Don and twice a week from Novosibirsk. Nord Wind received permission to fly to Zanzibar from Moscow twice a week. Also, the airline of the tour operator «Pegas» was given permission to fly to Tunisia on the island of Djerba — four times a week. In addition, NordWind received permission to fly to Istanbul from 10 Russian cities — from Tomsk to Nalchik.
