Taxis will sail along the Nile: Cairo offers a new entertainment to tourists and everyone. The Egyptian capital is struggling with traffic jams, which will be one of the topics of the country’s government meeting next week. It was then that a broad discussion should unfold about the checkered steamers, the idea of which was proposed by the Ministries of Transport, Hydromelioration and the Environment. River taxis are designed to connect the Qanater al-Hayriyah area north of Cairo with Helwan, at the opposite end of the city.
According to the idea of the authors of the idea, the river tram will make 10 stops and will be on the way for 45 minutes. Agree, this is less than an hour (or even more) driving.
According to sources in the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources, a taxi will make 15 trips along the Nile in just a day. And Minister Hossam Moghazi promised that the total travel time would not exceed 20 minutes. The first river taxi will leave the pier in January.
