Egyptian officials changed their minds and decided to urgently abandon the idea of revising visa rules for foreign tourists. This was officially announced by the Minister of Tourism of Egypt Abdel Noor Munir Fakhri, who managed to convince the government to abandon this venture on the eve of the high season.
Thus, according to Egyptian media reports, the authorities have officially abandoned plans to revise visa formalities for foreign tourists. From now on, the old rules will work, according to which tourists have the right to obtain a visa directly when crossing the state border, namely at airports, seaports and land border points. The cost of the visa will also remain unchanged and amount to $ 15 per tourist.
Recall that last week the Egyptian side announced a change in visa rules for tourists from the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia. However, against the backdrop of a catastrophic decline in tourist traffic and a drop in income in the tourism segment, officials listened to the voice of reason and abandoned their plans.
