In Egypt, 87 hotels out of 173 verified to date have received a health safety certificate, allowing them to open their doors to tourists. This was announced by the country’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. At the same time, as the representative of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Suha Bakhgat told local media, the ministry, among other things, took a number of measures to return foreign tourism in the next period of isolation. At the same time, the permitted occupancy of hotels increased up to 50%.
Hotels must obtain a health safety certificate from the ministries of tourism and antiquities, as well as health and population and the Egyptian Hotel Association (EHA), a ministry official said.
Note that hotels in the resort of Hurghada were one of the first to open for domestic tourists, on May 22, but only for domestic tourists. At the same time, until the beginning of June, they were allowed to operate with a maximum throughput of 25%. From June, hotels are allowed to increase occupancy by up to 50%.
