Work is currently being completed to ensure the operation of a regular cruise line between Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh. This line was previously operational but was closed due to low demand for tourist travel to the Sinai.
The first cruise ship on the line will be owned by Arab Bridge Maritime, a company owned by Egypt, Jordan and Iraq. Ayman Saleh, chairman of the Red Sea Ports Authority, told the Egyptian press that the first cruise trip will take place this month. During the pilot phase, there will be two flights per week. For this period, other companies are prohibited from carrying out passenger traffic between Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh.
