The Egyptian province of the Red Sea has welcomed tourists from more than 35 countries since the beginning of the Christmas holidays, and the hotel occupancy rate has risen to 90%, some of which are 100% full, according to TURPROM sources from Hurghada.
The beaches of the Red Sea are a popular tourist destination for foreigners and Egyptians alike, with a total of 278 hotels in the area.
Hurghada International Airport and Marsa Alam International Airport received a significant increase in flights from various European countries, especially with frequent charter flights with tourists from Germany, Italy and Poland. Airport staff greeted tourists with decorations, flowers and other New Year gifts.
Tourists from all over the world came to hotels in Hurghada, Safaga, El Gouna, Marsa Alam on the Red Sea coast, and most often tourists from Germany, Great Britain, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Serbia, Croatia and the Scandinavian countries can be found on the beaches. Despite the continuing ban on direct flights to Egyptian resorts from Russia, the Russian language is also encountered in hotels. Russian tourists continue to travel to Hurghada from Moscow with a transfer in Cairo, and many of them buy tours from Russian tour operators directly
