Egypt is counting on attracting young tourists through social media promotion. For this, an unusual advertising campaign has started on Instagram. The very choice of the place for the promotion is unusual — ATOR experts comment — this is the first time they have resorted to the possibilities of this social network in Egypt. Egypt has signed a contract with Beautiful Destinations (BD), whose total audience on social networks is estimated at 20 million users. BD’s main platform is Instagram, where the number of subscribers reaches 12.7 million.
The first two-minute video shows tourists the “Major Gems” of Egypt. In addition to the Pyramids of Giza and Luxor, the depths of the sea, the desert, hot air balloon flights and other popular tourist activities were captured in the frame. The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism believes that the new campaign «People To People» should attract more foreign tourists, thanks in part to «the openness and hospitality of local residents.»
«This campaign is intended not only for travelers from all over the world, but also to boost local morale,» commented the head of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, Rania Mashat. According to her, the goal of the Ministry of Tourism is for at least one person from every Egyptian household to work directly or indirectly in the tourism sector.
