The ferry service between Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada will start working in the next month in Egypt. This information was confirmed by Abdel Rahim Mostafa, spokesman for the Red Sea Port Authority.
According to Mustafa, regular sea traffic between the two resorts will contribute to the development of tourism and the creation of new jobs both in one and the other resort. It is known that both Sharm el-Sheikh (it is located on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula) and Hurghada (it is located on the Red Sea immediately behind the Suez Canal, face to face with Sharm el-Sheikh) are in great demand in the tourist market. The ferry has a number of advantages: firstly, it is cheaper than the plane. Secondly, faster than a passenger car. It is known that motorists are forced to cover considerable distances, moving from one resort to another.
In the hope of boosting the influx of tourists to the resorts, on April 1, the government opened a rail link between Cairo and Matruh, a Mediterranean resort in western Egypt. One train runs between the capital and Matruh a day — there and back.
