In a ranking from Bloomberg, which presented a list of the best cruise destinations recommended for tourists in 2019, Egypt was ranked second behind Cuba. Cruise operators’ routes now include a stopover in the country, rather than just passing through the Suez Canal, according to the agency.
Cruise operators such as Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Oceania Cruises and Silversea have included in their itineraries. They announced calls to the port of Safaga, from where tourists will be offered excursions to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings by buses.
The agency also noted the resumption of cruises on the Nile. Including tourists are also offered stops in Luxor, Aswan and Cairo.
Let’s remind that Cuba took the first place in the ranking. Bloomberg estimates that Havana has attracted hundreds of thousands of cruise ships — both mass market and luxury — since 2016, when the US tourist ban was lifted. Turkey also ranks sixth on the list.
