Crystal Lagoons’ return to Cityscape Global will mark this October in the Middle East, when the official developer of giant crystal lagoons will unveil a second, offshore version of the oasis addressed to the famous Egyptian resort of Sharm El Sheikh.
Kevin Morgan, who recently took over the leadership of Crystal Lagoons, says “The second project in Sharm El Sheikh will be the quintessential new luxury resort developed by Egypt’s largest tourism company, Radamis, for Hotels & Touristic Resorts. «The resort, addressed to the wealthiest tourists, occupies 75 hectares of land, on which three independent Sharm El Sheikh hotels are being built at once with a total number of 2’500 units, and a lagoon offering a wide variety of water sports will be laid out on a 2.7 hectare tourist area.»
The Radamis resort in Sharm el Sheikh will be the latest Egyptian project, Crystal Lagoons, which the company is implementing as the official owner of the technology rights to create the world’s largest man-made lagoon within the Citystars Sharm El Sheikh complex. This «mega-lagoon» with an area of 12 hectares will also be noted in the Guinness Book of Records, surpassing the achievement of the former leader — the Chilean resort «San Alfonso del Mar», the first project of the same «Crystal Lagoons». Part of a multidisciplinary project, which is being developed in partnership with the Egyptian Golden Pyramid Group, Citystars Sharm El Sheikh will have 10 seawater lagoons. Covering a total of 100 hectares and including the world’s largest lagoon, this unique desert oasis will become a new tourist landmark for the entire region.
The complex currently under construction should open before the end of this year, when it will offer customers 1.2 million square meters of housing, hotels, golf courses, marinas, a museum and a shopping center. The largest event in the Middle East real estate market, Cityscape Global -2012 will be open from 2 to 4 October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.
