Egyptian authorities will increase selling prices for certain types of fuel and electricity. Because of this, the price level for many services, including accommodation in Egyptian hotels, could rise dramatically, Reuters reported.
Fuel tariffs have already risen 78% and are projected to double further over the next five years. Such measures were taken to restore the economy, which suffered from the political instability in the country. At the moment, electricity is sold in Egypt for half of the cost.
We add that Cairo is preparing a number of unpopular reforms, the purpose of which may be to adjust subsidies for travel in transport, gasoline and food.
