A new resort town will be built 5 km from the popular tourist resort Sharm el-Sheikh, the Egyptian press reports. The construction will take about 5 years. In fact, the new resort will become a kind of satellite of Sharm, where handicraft and trade centers, entertainment complexes, and souvenir shops will function.
It should be reminded that tourism is still the main source of income for the country, however, the «Arab Spring» negatively affected the flow of tourists to the country. The Arab Spring is a multitude of revolutions, expressed in the form of protests and uprisings against heads of state and political order in a number of Arab and North African countries, such as Tunisia, Yemen, Egypt and Libya. Simultaneously, civil wars broke out in Syria and Bahrain, followed by major riots in Oman, Morocco, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan and Algeria. Currently, all the forces of the tourism sector in Egypt are aimed at reviving tourism in the country.
