The return of traditional markets — primarily the German one — contributed to the increased occupancy of hotels in Egypt. According to Egypt Independent, the occupancy rate of hotels in Egypt has reached 95%. Moreover, there is overbooking in floating hotels plying the Nile. This assessment was voiced by Ihab Abdal Aal, a member of the General Assembly of the Association of Egyptian Travel Agents.
Excursion programs in Egypt are also in demand. Tourists even use «non-trivial» transportation such as night trains to Cairo and Luxor.
Specifically for the German market, the local arm of the tour operator TUI fly Deutschland announced that the airline’s flights to Egypt in November 2018 will increase by 20% compared to 2017. The company will operate 27 flights a week from German airports to Egypt, including 19 to Hurghada. The number of tourists from Japan, the United States and Spain is also growing, and they mainly require excursion programs.
