On Monday, one of the most popular tourist attractions has been resumed in Luxor, Egypt — after seven months of the «coronavirus» break, hot air balloons are allowed again. They were discontinued back in March as part of a series of precautions that the Civil Aviation Administration introduced to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
“The return of hot air ballooning is a boon for the tourism sector,” the owners of the companies operating the flights commented to local media. At the same time, they emphasize that additional measures have been taken to ensure greater safety during balloon flights, on which hundreds of tourists take to the sky every day.
Among other things, the Ministry of Civil Aviation renovated the balloon port, providing better service and travel insurance. The refurbishment work included, among other things, improving the equipment of the balloon airport, installing internationally approved modern surveillance cameras and an integrated air monitoring station.
The Civil Aviation Authority has also trained balloon operators in the use of modern devices that help track balloons while they are in the sky. The government will use GPS devices to record trip navigation to ensure that the balloon’s flight paths meet tourist safety guidelines.
If you want to go to Egypt, swim in the warm waters of the Red Sea, and take a ride in a hot air balloon over the Valley of the Pharaohs in Luxor, then we recall that the Russian government has opened the air border with Egypt, but so far only flights on the Moscow-Cairo route are allowed. Aeroflot and Egypt Air fly. On their wings, tours through Cairo to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh were launched by only one Russian tour operator — the TEZ-tour company. Departures from Moscow are carried out on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Arrivals to the hotel in the resort — the next day. The tour operator also drew attention to the program of regular Egypt Air flights to Cairo on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays — if a tourist wishes, a tour package can be formed on the basis of this transportation.
